Top Ten Reasons to Get Connected:
-Small Groups are family-friendly. Parents and children growing together.
-Small Groups are geographically-gonvenient. Proximity is rarely an issue.
-Small Groups are multi-generational. Something for every phase of life.
-Small Groups are multi-ethnic. A celebration of cultural-diversity.
-Small Groups are relationally-fueled. A laboratory for loving one another.
-Small Groups are shepherding-based. Caring for the real needs of every person.
-Small Groups are discipleship-oriented. Fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
-Small Groups are externally-focused. Blessing our community with God’s love.
-Small Groups are purpose-driven. A healthy balance of all five church purposes.
-Small Groups are life-integrated. Not a program, but a way of life.
At Spring Hill Baptist Church, we desire to live life together by deepening the community of love within our church family, while reaching out in love toward the community around us. We believe both are essential for a healthy, balanced life centered on God’s purposes.
About Small Groups...
What are Small Groups?
Small Groups are small, inter-connected groups of people who are committed to living out our mission by living life together. Small Groups are a component of our Shepherding Ministry to aid us in our ongoing responsibility to shepherd and disciple one another (John 13:34-35).
What types of Small Groups are available?
We offer a diversity of Small Groups for people of all ages and backgrounds. Each Small Group is gathered around a particular phase of life, special interest, or geographic location. We have men’s groups, women’s groups, groups for single moms, groups for married women, groups for the family, divorce-care groups, Bible or topical studies, community-based groups, and many others. Whatever your age or stage of life, chances are, there’s already a Small Group for you. And if not, perhaps it’s time to start your own!
When and where will Small Groups meet?
Small Groups will likely meet together in homes or on the church campus on a weekly or bi-monthly basis, or as often as the group desires. However, remember that a Small Group can more accurately be described as an ongoing relationship that spans the entire course of our week, and integral to all that we do.
What happens in a Small Group?
Small Groups will emphasize an array of activities in the areas of worship, fellowship, discipleship, friendship and partnership. Each Small Group will have a set of unifying purposes, a group covenant and a trained shepherd who cares deeply about shepherding each person under their care. However, since life is multi-faceted and multi-dimensional at times, Small Group activities will likely look much different from group to group. Yet even with all the exciting diversity, all Small Groups are committed to living life together!
What about children in a Small Group?
Small Groups that choose to gather as adults only will work together to determine their own childcare arrangements. However, if you want to reap the richest rewards from your Small Group, we encourage you to include the children and learn from each other. Be a family. Children can be involved in each activity such as sharing meals together, object lessons, teaching times, service projects, fellowship activities, times of worship and prayer, community service activities, and biblical instruction.

Abundant Life!
Abundant life is found only in Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). The God of this universe, who has pursued us with such indescribable love through the person of Jesus Christ, desires us to pursue Him as our only treasure with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
Yet, in the midst of a fast-paced world and through the storms of life, it’s all too easy to lose our bearings, and get side-tracked on fleeting pursuits with little lasting value. The countless distractions and worldly comforts often leave us helplessly numb in our pursuit of God.
Yet thankfully, God never intended us to pursue Him alone. We need each other, desperately - now, more than ever. Scripture commands us in Hebrews 3:13: “Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.” Daily. We need each other daily. For the follower of Jesus, living life together is not an option.
