Land Information
The land is under a conservation easement with the Virginia Outdoor Foundation.
Conditions of the Gift John & Jean Wood give Dover-Foxcroft with the understanding that it always be used for Christian purposes. Spring Hill would never be able to sell the land but could gift it to another organization.
Who has been working on this?
Dan Carlton, Debra Pennington, Scott Hendrix, Steve Colvin, Lee Estes, Jeff Dalton,
Steve Ferguson, Chris Earle, Oakley Straley, Mike Layman
Liability Issues:
Our attorney and insurance agent have recommended that we set up a separate legal entity to assume ownership of Dover-Foxcroft. This will keep the liability separate from Spring Hill Baptist Church. Spring Hill Baptist Church will approve the governing documents for this legal entity and retain a controlling interest on the Board of Directors.
Future Plans:
The Board of Directors will be responsible for the day to day operation of Dover-Foxcroft. They will enlist the services of an architect/land planner to determine the best use of the property for the future. There will be many opportunities for dialogue about what can be accomplished at Dover-Foxcroft.
