Our Mission-

To minister to families and individuals touched by special needs by providing Love, Comfort, Support, Prayer, Mentoring, Resources, Worship, Training, and Fellowship.

Our Respite Care Program - Game Night!

Game Night is for teens and adults with special needs. We play games, fellowship, socialize, participate in fun activities, share devotions and EAT! Everyone who comes should bring a favorite treat. We meet every month except July. 

Game Night is scheduled the first Friday of the month from 6:30 -  9:00 p.m. in the Frays Mill Missions Hall.  Volunteers are always needed and welcomed.

Registration is not required, however, it is helpful to ensure there is not a change in schedule and most appreciated for planning purposes.  For more information, contact Liz Banning at 434-985-5002 or send an email to specialneedsministry@springhillbaptist.org.

Our Respite Care Program - Take A Break

Take a Break meets every month October through May on the first Saturday of the month. Registration is required each month, but application forms need to be filled out only one time (unless basic information changes).

Take a Break occurs at Frays Mill in the Missions Hall and the second floor from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Volunteers are always needed and welcomed.  Contact Suzanne McDonald at smcdonald82@embarqmail.com or specialneedsministry@springhillbaptist.org.

Strength in Numbers

Strength in Numbers is a support group for families in our community and surrounding counties to help each other find strength in daily life. Having a child with special needs is not an easy way of life, but it is something that we wouldn't change for anything.

Our hope is to provide comfort, encouragement and a sense of togetherness to all of those who attend our meetings. We want everyone to know that they are not alone in this world and that other parents and families have been there, and may be there right now.

Join us, and you will find friends to help you through good times and bad. Think of Strength in Numbers as a "networking/support social group" - this isn't your "typical" support group!

Special Needs Sunday School Classes

Shadows are available, on request, for any child with special needs who might need a “buddy” or “shadow” in order to be mainstreamed for the 9:30 a.m. classes on Sunday mornings. Please contact Mary at (434)973-7473 for more information.

We have 3 self-contained classes for those with special needs where they can receive personal, individualize attention:

• Elementary class for grades 1-5
• Middle school & high school class for grades 6-12
• Adult class

All Special Needs Sunday School classes meet at 9:30 a.m. on the 2^nd floor of the educational building and are located near handicap-accessible restrooms, an elevator and ramps.  Any additional information about these classes can be obtained by contacting Mary at (434)973-7473 or mary@springhillbaptist.org.
