Tuesdays Together
Mission Statement: Tuesdays Together will provide opportunities for parent-preschooler interaction through creative praise and worship activities, designed to bring others to know the wonders of God’s love. These classes are open to everyone in our community.
About the Courses:
Courses will begin at 9:30 am and conclude at 11:30 am. We’ll offer two 45-minute classes with a snack provided in between. All courses are parent-preschooler (age 3-5) learning experiences with the toddler cooperative care available. A $25 family registration fee per semester covers all course materials, supplies and morning snacks. All of our snacks are peanut free. Check our website for online payment or bring check or cash on Tuesday September 13th. The courses each last 6 weeks during the school year. The first quarter courses from September 13th – October 18th. The second quarter courses run from October 25th- December 6th. Tuesdays Together follows the Albemarle County School’s inclement weather policy. If schools are cancelled or delayed, Tuesdays Together will be cancelled. November 8th we will be closed for Albemarle County Schools break.
Toddler Cooperative Care: We are excited to continue a childcare cooperative for younger siblings. As soon as siblings are mobile, they are welcome to explore their surroundings in our safe, fun environment. Toddler Care will be staffed with the same familiar face each week and parents will volunteer as assistants. The number of volunteering opportunities depends upon registration numbers. Please see our preschool policy about sick children and allergy concerns. Our co-op coordinator will be in touch with you after the start of the new semester to schedule dates.
First Quarter Fall 2011
Fall Fun- Crunchy leaves, bright pumpkins, and clear blue skies. These are the things that make fall bold and beautiful. This class will introduce the fall season with books, crafts, and games.
Family Faith Steps- Ever wonder how to answer a big faith question from a pint size kid? All families struggle with how to balance the big topic of God with a preschooler’s reality. In this class, families will learn new ways to incorporate faith into every day activities. So you can answer “Does God have to pick up toys too?”
KinderPraise-- KinderPraise is a parent-child praise and worship class. We sing songs, experiment with instruments, and praise God with creative movement. Come see which instruments and games we will play as we grow like Jesus. “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.” Luke 2:52.
Second Quarter Class for Fall 2011
Count Your Blessings- Join this counting class to practice your counting and math skills as well as counting our blessings. Families will brush up on their preschool math while celebrating the gifts that are around us everyday!
Mudworks- Let’s get messy! This hands on class encourages children to explore and create with various materials and all five senses. Some projects will be lovely to look at, some lovely to taste, and others lovely to have explored. Let’s celebrate our gifts of sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste.
Alphabet and Fine Motor Skills- Would you like to paint with a potato or play with blobber? Would you like to bend your body into strange shapes or go on a letter hunt? Come and learn about 7 different letters while moving, sculpting, drawing, gluing, cutting, painting, and working all those fine motor muscles. Learning letters has never been so easy and fun!
