Week 5- Light
Light (Christmas Day)
Scripture: John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Devotion:
God is the creator of the “Big Reveal” concept that many of us think is so “cool.” He reveals himself in nature, his written Word, through the work of the Holy Spirit and in Jesus Christ.
Advent set the stage for the biggest Reveal of all.  In the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus, the curtain is opened, and the audience is awestruck. The Light of the World takes center stage and pierces the darkness.
“Wow!” That’s the resounding word spoken by those who open up their lives to the Light and join him in the grand drama called life.
Wow.
Prayer:
Father in heaven, thank you for revealing yourself. Thank you for overcoming the darkness with your everlasting Light. May that Light shine on us, in us and through us. Amen.
